I will check them out sometime soon. I rarely sold the previous generation because they measured out super thin. I always had issues ordering a 12.50 wide and it would measure out maybe 10.2 wide on the tread.

With the kits that are made for the adaptive ride control, generally they are designed to achieve the lift through spacers. They should leave the shocks and the general function of the system untouched

These kits are designed to bring the truck level. It will be about a 2” rear lift on this 4” kit

I would most likely recommend having a shop do it. These outbacks lift kind of strange and some come out with major positive camber. It is not as simple as a solid axle truck lift kit per se, but you are not having to cut crossmembers like other truck lifts

How’s road noise?

@@teamoildrop I live fairly close to the Discount Tire where I purchased yesterday so never got above 40mph at any time. On the trip home I made sure to have no a/c or fan on, no radio so I could listen and they made very little to no noise at all. Now on the interstate/highways at higher speeds, that may be a different story. Keep in mind, coming from two prior sets of 295/70R17 Toyo Open Country M/T’s, these things are a godsend. I’ll chime back with you as I get a little more driving time and higher speeds on them, as this Megacab 4x4 is not my daily driver. I do know right now there’s an $80 off per set of four of these, as well as other Cooper AT tires, I think until Aug 26th or so through Discount Tire, and that may apply anywhere you make a purchase since it’s a Cooper instant-applied rebate), and I got a 5% mil discount at Discount Tire so that certainly helped with the purchase.

@@teamoildrop Wish I could help you more on the noise issue but for now that’s all I got. Like any other new tire though, the dynamics of noise and ride comfortability can certainly change as they get mileage on them. Good luck with whatever tire you decide to go with.

@@teamoildrop Had to make a run yesterday about 10 miles from the house and pretty much all two-lane highway…got the tires up to 60mph and surprisingly no tire noise at all. As they break in and get some mileage on them, that of course may change. These things are like riding on rails, real comfortable ride. They’d look damn good on your new Tacoma no doubt.

I don’t think they are… I just checked as well. Maybe something else got discontinued but there’s no way they are going to discontinue the at3 xlt that has to be one of their best sellers

Yeh, not sure about the AT3 XLT being replaced by these…I did read where the AT3 4S and I think it was the AT3 LT are what’s being replaced by these. But I also read somewhere the newer Discoverer Road + Trail AT was the AT3 4S replacement. Hell, who knows. 😂

@@decklanburkhart8113 Agree…and finding out the real skinny on anything nowadays damn near seems impossible. You can read four different articles nowadays and get four different angles and responses on the same subject matter. Like you, I hope they keep on trucking and making damn good tires. I’ve got AT3 4S’s on a couple of my early 2000’s I-6 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4’s and they’ve performed and held up well.

@@usmc6157 I have ran a lot of tires but the at3 xlt was phenomenal on my 3rd gen Cummins and looking at putting them on my tundra next set of tires.

How’s the road noise?

@teamoildrop not with the windows up. You can hear a little bit of humming with the windows down, but to me, it's minimal. Years ago, I had a '79 Bronco on 35 inch General Grabber M/T's, and at anything over 35 mph, those tires were loud. But, even with a little humming, for 35's, they're still smoother and quieter than the stock size Firestone Destination M/T's.

We had one on the rumors and spy shots originally. They have finally expanded to aftermarket sizes so I will have re-do that one! Thanks for watching!

The Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT loved to throw gravel as well. How loud are the strongholds? Any other initial impressions would be appreciated. I’m considering these tires.

That’s the tough part with these ATs having wider tread pattern. It traps bigger rocks

I've run 3 different types of All terrain tires, they ALL throw gravel. I really dont think theres any way to get around that unfortunately...

Good call. KO3 is finally expanding to aftermarket sizes and not just the Ranger Raptor, F-150 Raptor and AT4 sizes. That should be a compelling choice in this light overland sector

This is 2” of additional ride height from the standard Outback. The wilderness achieves its factory .8 inches of added lift through extended components that are removed when installing this kit. The labeled geometry for this kit are from the standard Outback. However you will achieve additional clearance from the tire size you choose to go with this package as well

What would you recommend for a good A/T tire and still be comparable during winter? I was looking at Wildpeeks but not sure

@@letzgow6110definitely falken wildpeak. Right now I run the trail tire and it’s awesome with wayyyyy less road noise, much more useful hardness of rubber and and overall awesome performance both on and off road. Definitely can recommend. I used to run the AT/3 but they just discontinued those for some reason. The AT/4 has the most tread but a bit more road noise that’s noticeable imho.

There was a long period of time where BFG was the only one that had a C rated AT tire for builds of this type so often times customers see them as synonymous with these setups. There are tons of options within the industry now that allow customers a whole host of choices that they didn’t have until the last few years

It rides amazing. I think thuren is one of the best riding kits for these rams. The only thing I would do above what the customer did would be the sway bar upgrade. It really allows that front axle to free up

Yes. Any kit above about 4” will require the crossmember cut
